Bristol, 2nd time around

Bizarrely with my friend Tereza who lives in Germany and was asked to be a part of the jury at scriptwriting competition in Bristol. Lots of strolling around with a cup of coffee in my hand, films, cakes by the river and meating with new young filmmakers from all around Europe, all of them similarly aspiring and penniless.

Tereza got an amazing cheap romance book from a hotel lobby in Greece and we spent our train journey reading it aloud. A Romance with Sheikh.

I took a time off, and whilst Tereza was busy being a part of scriptwriting competition jury, I strolled through the city, sparked a tiny few seconds long friendships with people in Cafes and shops. It seems, compared to London, a time and money flows on kind of more reasonable pace in Bristol, but it might have been 'a vacation' effect.

I went to a cinema alone, what a sad person, seen a great ghost story The Awakening with my favourite Rebecca Hall and alone in the whole cinema room I got excited when glimpsing Dominic West's private parts on the screen.

We've met Gaia, a young filmmaker from Italy and invited ourselves over to Rome to visit her this coming spring. The very first night, to honour our decadent wellness intentions, we've dined in the £12 all-you-can=eat buffet, mainly on Long Island Iced Tea.

We attampted a healthy cooking in the hostel kitchen, in a company of Spaniards who were dumb and loud (or maybe they just seemed dumb for being so unnecessarily loud). When we mimicked their passionate loud way of speaking they had the audacity to snap at us for being too loud this early in the morning. HA!

My dearest memory is of three different kinds of pie, all of them divine, and large americano served in a river cafe right in the heart of Bristol harbour, in a company of cranes, who - much like us - stopped for a while and spread their wings in the sun before jumping back into their day-to-day shananigans.
