Pisces Season 2025: A Cosmic Riptide of Retrogrades, Eclipses, and Revelations

"The universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself; everything that you want, you already are." - Rumi

Welcome to Pisces Season 2025, where reality melts at the edges, logic takes a nap, and the cosmos serves up a cocktail of transits that feel like a fever dream. This is not a drill. From February 18th to March 20th, we’ll be swimming in deep emotional waters, getting tangled in Venusian nostalgia, stumbling over a Virgo Lunar Eclipse, and watching Mercury in Aries go full trickster mode. If you were hoping for a smooth and peaceful swim through Pisces’ ethereal waters, think again—this is more of a cosmic riptide. Let’s break it down.

Pisces season, the final stop on the zodiac wheel before Aries bursts onto the scene with its fresh wave of challenges, creative energy, and can-do attitude, offers a moment of respite. It momentarily softens the edges of reality, wrapping us in a shimmering tapestry woven from stardust and seafoam. This is a time when the veil between worlds thins, and the whispers of the subconscious swell into a symphony of deep feeling, a siren song beckoning us to release our grip on the mundane. …you get me, right, it’s a season narrated by Luna Lovegood!

I, for one, can't wait to see what new bizarre conspiracy theories, global-scale misunderstandings, and disillusionment rise from these depths. Our energetic invitation is to balance on the edge of this abyss of illusions and confusions, maintaining a foothold in everyday reality so that we can draw from the approaching dreamtide. We can use it for creative inspiration, for intuitive insights that actually inform our daily lives and relationships,  rather than hinder it, and for a deeper understanding of our fellow travelers on this wonderfully messy journey—all without being swept away by the current.

Pisces, the final sign in the zodiac cycle, is often described as carrying the accumulated wisdom, gifts, and burdens of all the signs that precede it. This might explain their reputation for being somewhat detached, perhaps even a little otherworldly, like they're perpetually waltzing with fairies. A more apt analogy, I think, and one that resonated with me during my daily breaststroke session in the chlorine-tinged waters of my local pool, is this: rather than carrying the collective wisdom of the zodiac on their shoulders, Pisces are submerged by it. Not in a drowning, suffocating way, but in a way that allows for a different perspective.

Think back to those childhood moments when we'd hold our breath at the bottom of the pool, briefly entering a completely altered reality. The sounds of the world above faded away, everything became hazy, slow-motion, dreamlike—a David Lynch-directed music video playing out in the turquoise depths (we miss you, David!). The world outside ceased to exist for the duration of our breath, replaced by the surreal ballet of dangling legs, the hypnotic dance of bubbles rising to the surface, the pressure in our ears, and the inevitable, building pull back to the surface. Pisces season, amidst the dizzying rush of the year, offers us precisely that: a momentary shift in perspective. Dreams and intuition, illusion and magic are amplified, gifting us, for one astrological season, a new lens through which to view reality.

This is precisely why my Pisces season workshop (which you'll find below) leans so heavily on the potent medicine of The Hanged Man in the Tarot—he understands the wisdom found in a change of perspective.

Retrograde Roulette: Pisces Season's Cosmic Game of Chance

Mars Direct in Cancer (February 23rd)

After a soggy, sluggish retrograde, Mars finally gets its act together and stations direct in Cancer. Picture a warrior who’s been stuck wading through emotional quicksand, finally getting back on solid ground—but not without carrying some waterlogged baggage. Mars in Cancer isn’t the easiest placement to begin with (it’s like trying to fight a battle while wearing a weighted blanket), but at least now we can move forward. Expect themes around home, security, and emotional protection to become sharper. If the first two months of the year felt like a psychological siege, this is the moment where we regroup, recalibrate, and fight back.

Venus Retrograde in Pisces (March 1st - April 12th)

Here’s where things get gloriously messy. Venus retrograding through Pisces is a nostalgic fever dream, full of romantic ghosts, artistic awakenings, and delusions of grandeur. This is a season of exes sliding back into DMs, of old creative projects suddenly looking promising again, and of questioning whether that dream you gave up on was actually worth chasing. Venus in Pisces is exalted, meaning this retrograde could feel like a siren song pulling us toward beauty, love, and illusions—some of which will be truly magical, and some of which will dissolve like seafoam come April.

Lunar Eclipse in Virgo (March 13th)

If Venus retrograde is the dream, this Lunar Eclipse in Virgo is the wake-up slap. Virgo, ever the meticulous critic, will not let us get away with our Piscean illusions for too long. This eclipse asks: Where have we been too idealistic? Where do we need to clean up the mess? Virgo energy demands accountability, whether in our work, health, or day-to-day routines. Expect stark realizations, revelations about hidden details, and some necessary course corrections. If you’ve been floating in denial, Virgo will throw you a lifeline—whether you want it or not.

Mercury Retrograde in Aries (March 14th - April 7th)

As if one retrograde wasn’t enough, Mercury in Aries decides to throw us an extra dose of chaos in the first of everyone’s favourite retrograde shitstorms of 2025. Aries is impulsive, direct, and doesn’t think before speaking—so imagine that energy running backwards. Miscommunications will be fiery, tech will betray us, and the general vibe will be one of people blurting things out and immediately regretting them. If you’re signing contracts, launching projects, or trying to have a rational discussion, double-check everything. And if your internet goes out mid-Zoom call? Blame Mercury, take a deep breath, and try again.

This isn’t just a random collection of transits—these astrological events are part of a larger narrative. Mars direct signals a shift in power, possibly bringing major political or social movements back into focus. Venus retrograde stirs cultural conversations about art, relationships, and value systems. The Virgo lunar eclipse highlights global issues around health, labor, and practicality, demanding real-world solutions. And Mercury retrograde in Aries? Let’s just say we should all prepare for some fiery debates, miscommunications on a grand scale, and the kind of impulsive decision-making that headlines are made of.

On a personal level, this is a season of deep introspection, re-evaluation, and course correction. The combination of dreamy Pisces energy and these turbulent transits means that we are being asked to surrender to change while staying anchored in reality. Easier said than done, of course.

Your Star-Sign Roadmap for Pisces Season

♈ Aries (12th House): This season pulls you into the deep end of your subconscious. Venus retrograde has you revisiting old wounds, dreams, and possibly ex-lovers who resurface at inconvenient times. The Virgo eclipse demands structure in your routines, while Mercury retrograde in your sign? Yeah, it’s going to be a verbal minefield. Tip: Meditate before speaking. Take extra time for introspection, journaling, and therapy if needed. This is a time for deep healing, but only if you allow yourself to slow down and reflect.

♉ Taurus (11th House): Friendships and long-term goals are up for review. Who’s truly in your corner? Venus retrograde asks you to reconsider your social circles and past aspirations. The Virgo eclipse could shake up creative projects, and Mercury retrograde will have you questioning everything. Tip: Reconnect with old allies, but don’t romanticize the past. Take stock of your long-term dreams—are they still relevant, or is it time for a course correction?

♊ Gemini (10th House): Career confusion incoming! Venus retrograde has you questioning professional relationships and your overall path. The Virgo eclipse brings clarity around home vs. work balance, while Mercury retrograde might scramble public image matters. Tip: Think before making major career moves. Use this time to reassess, rather than act impulsively. Plan strategically.

♋ Cancer (9th House): Big philosophical shifts are on the way. Venus retrograde tugs at past academic or travel dreams, while the Virgo eclipse challenges you to integrate new perspectives. Mercury retrograde might cause some issues with legal matters or publishing. Tip: Journal your insights, but wait to act. Reflect on how your worldview is evolving before making drastic changes.

♌ Leo (8th House): Financial and emotional entanglements come up for review. Venus retrograde stirs old debts (monetary or emotional), and the Virgo eclipse highlights practical concerns. Mercury retrograde could make deep conversations frustratingly unclear. Tip: Focus on financial and emotional clarity. Set firm boundaries and clear up any lingering debts—whether material or emotional.

♍ Virgo (7th House): Relationships take center stage. Venus retrograde revisits old romances or partnership dynamics, and the eclipse in your sign demands personal realignment. Mercury retrograde in Aries stirs misunderstandings in intimacy. Tip: Be honest, but patient. If old relationship patterns are resurfacing, address them with newfound wisdom.

♎ Libra (6th House): Work, health, and routines are in flux. Venus retrograde rewinds old job opportunities or health habits. The eclipse in Virgo brings subconscious realizations, and Mercury retrograde could throw logistical wrenches into your plans. Tip: Prioritize self-care over perfection. Establish sustainable, nurturing routines.

♏ Scorpio (5th House): Love, creativity, and joy are complicated. Venus retrograde stirs old flames, while the Virgo eclipse pushes you toward more structured creative expression. Mercury retrograde could make dating… interesting. Tip: Play, but don’t overanalyze. Engage in creative outlets that reignite joy.

♐ Sagittarius (4th House): Home and family matters resurface. Venus retrograde tugs at past emotional wounds, and the Virgo eclipse asks you to balance home vs. career. Mercury retrograde could bring nostalgic but confusing conversations with relatives. Tip: Honor your emotional needs. If family dynamics feel tense, focus on establishing boundaries while also allowing space for healing. Your home environment may need a refresh—declutter and make room for comfort and stability.

♑ Capricorn (3rd House): Communication chaos ahead! Venus retrograde rewires how you express yourself, and the Virgo eclipse asks for clarity. Mercury retrograde means tech glitches and misunderstandings galore. Tip: Back up your files and re-read every email. Think twice before engaging in heated debates. This is a great time for reviewing past learning and refining your message before presenting your ideas to the world.

♒ Aquarius (2nd House): Financial matters get murky. Venus retrograde stirs old spending patterns, and the Virgo eclipse highlights where you need more discipline. Mercury retrograde could bring confusion around income. Tip: Reevaluate spending and earning habits. Look for financial leaks and reconsider what truly brings you value. Avoid impulse buys and focus on long-term financial security.

♓ Pisces (1st House): It’s your season, but with Venus retrograde in your sign, expect major identity shifts. The Virgo eclipse calls for balance in partnerships, and Mercury retrograde forces you to rethink how you communicate. Tip: Redefine yourself, but stay grounded. Embrace self-reflection and personal reinvention. Take time for deep self-care and be mindful of projecting unrealistic expectations onto relationships. This is a season of self-discovery—trust the process.
