The End Of The Dream, The Beginning Of The Fight

Between retrograde confusion, billionaire panic and the birth cry of spring, something old is quietly collapsing

Welcome to a feral little passage between the last sigh of Pisces and the first scream of Aries, where dreams collapse, systems rot in public and the wheel of the year kicks us back into motion.

This week, the messenger planet Mercury stations twice at the North Node in Pisces before turning direct (Haleloo!) , Venus is doing her thing - loudly in Aries! - and the whole week serves as a bridge between the end of our astrological year concluding with New Moon in Pisces, and a beginning of a new one with Sun entering Aries on Spring Equinox. Below, we’ll examine how this Pisces to Aries pivot weaves itself into our global and personal (read for your Rising sign) unfolding story.

“If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people He gave it to.” - Dorothy Parker

The first rule of power is that the powerful will lie to you about how fragile they actually are. Hannah Arendt wrote that the most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution. Oscar Wilde had an even simpler diagnosis when he said that everything is about sex except sex, which is about power.

And lately the world stage is beginning to look like the blooper reel of that truth.

We are living through the slow theatrical exposure of late stage capitalism’s favorite monsters. Billionaires who styled themselves as philosopher kings are starting to look more like nervous nerds (nothing against nerds, unless they seek to abolish the world order because they don’t know how to talk to women), pacing around glass towers or underground bunkers, refreshing their lawyers’ emails.

The Epstein files continue to trickle out in the most sinister possible way, with lawmakers demanding investigations into how the documents were handled and whether powerful names are still being protected.

The deeper story is not about one dead financier.

It is about a system that allowed people like him to orbit the highest circles of money and politics for decades without anyone pulling the emergency brake. Investigations have revealed just how deeply Epstein cultivated relationships with elite networks, including figures in Silicon Valley.

That is Pluto in Aquarius in action.

We are experiencing echoes of that quintessential transition from Pluto in Capricorn to Pluto in Aquarius. The old structures of hierarchical control are being systematically dismantled by the relentless light of transparency and the rise of a decentralized, collective consciousness. We are also feeling the heat from the Saturn and Neptune conjunction in Aries, which re entered the scene earlier this year. Just your once-in-a-generation turning point that demands we stop being spectators in the collapse and start becoming architects of the new world. But we are so fucking tired!

With Uranus preparing to dip its toes into Gemini end of April (expect some giant UFO news), the seeds of a total cognitive revolution are being planted. The ways we communicate, learn and trade are about to go through a woodchipper of innovation and disruption.

We will go from global to local and one can only hope this won’t be forced upon us by some truly devastating and volatile intervention.

Personally, you might have spent the last fortnight feeling like a ghost in your own life, stuck in a vacuum where movement seems impossible and every attempt at logic ends in a blue screen error. That is because Mercury is currently retrograde in Pisces, the sign of its fall and detriment. This is the place where the messenger planet goes to lose its mind and find its soul. Your dreams have likely been wild, incomprehensible and deeply exhausting (I know mine are!), acting as a psychic trash compactor for all the unintegrated garbage you have been carrying.

It is okay if you do not have the words right now.

Right now is fucked. We’re being dragged toward a meat-grinder conflict by a bunch of decrepit suits who don’t even have a coherent script, just blind momentum and ego.

You heard of the Ides of March concept, right? The madness of mid March, which usually shows up as a moment of sharp, inescapable truth that cuts through the fog like a hot knife through butter. Throughout history, this mid-March window has frequently acted as a recurring catalyst for regime shifts and the sudden collapse of overextended structures, so leaders beware! It might just come to light, suddenly and in sharp focus, that the greatest threats rarely come from external adversaries, but from the internal rot of hubris and the failure to sense the shifting winds of public sentiment.

The invitation this week is to let the old versions of yourself finish their dramatic death scenes. Jupiter went direct in Cancer a few days ago, which means the emotional momentum is finally starting to shift from internal interrogation to nurturing the new growth that survived the winter.

Venus is already in Aries, making us bold, impatient and perhaps a little too willing to set fire to things that bore us and march out into the streets (good!) to defend our deeply held values. We are standing at the threshold of the Spring Equinox and the New Moon in Pisces, the final exhale before the first inhale of the new astrological year.

It is time to drop the fucking cosplay and step into the fire.

The astrological story of this week moves like a strange little play.

First confusion. Then realization. Then movement.

Let us walk through it day by day.

Mon, March 16

Moon in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus

The week opens like someone flicking the breaker switch in your house.

Aquarius energy is already buzzing with ideas, rebellion, social awareness. Then Uranus throws a square from Taurus and suddenly the things you thought were stable start vibrating like a washing machine about to walk across the room.

This is a jolt to the places you thought were stable. Money. Security. The practical scaffolding of your life. Comfort gets zapped. High voltage.

Taurus rules security. Uranus rules disruption.

Last time I saw this kind of transit play out, a friend of mine finally opened the email she had been avoiding from her accountant. She expected disaster. Instead it revealed a mistake that meant she had overpaid taxes for two years and was owed money.

Relief arrived wearing the costume of anxiety.

That is very Uranus. A liberation disguised as inconvenience.

Mercury retrograde conjunct the North Node in Pisces
Moon in Pisces conjunct Mercury and Mars
& trine Jupiter in Cancer

Mercury retrograde is currently backsliding through the final degrees of Pisces and today it hits the North Node of Destiny. In the world of astrology, the North Node is the point that pulls us toward our future evolution, even if we are kicking and screaming the whole way. When the planet of communication meets this point while moving backward, it creates a weird temporal loop. Like that postcard in Amelie (anyone? Or are my movie references showing my age?), you might receive a piece of news that feels like it has been traveling through time for twenty years just to find you today.

So this day feels like running into a version of your past that suddenly reveals what your future is asking from you.

The Moon is also in Pisces today, conjoining Mercury and Mars, while forming a supportive trine to Jupiter in Cancer. This is a deeply somatic, highly emotional environment. Conversations feel heavy with subtext.

You might cry at something ridiculous like a song you have heard a thousand times (aka Joji’s Pieces of You..every time, man).

And just when the tears stop flowing a supportive trine with Jupiter in Cancer brings a sudden relief. Someone calls. Someone cooks for you. Someone reminds you that tenderness still exists in a world that sometimes feels like a corporate boardroom from hell.

If Monday shook the foundations, Tuesday reminds you what actually deserves to be protected.

Wed, March 18

Venus in Aries square Jupiter in Cancer
New Moon in Pisces

Well, this will be big. Wednesday is an emotional peak of the week, characterized by a massive collision between the impulse to expand and the need for security, all wrapped in the shimmering, dark cloak of a Pisces New Moon.

Venus in Aries is a feral, impatient lover who wants everything right now and has no fucking interest in consequences. Jupiter in Cancer is the protective, nurturing parent who wants to build a fortress of emotional safety and snacks. When they square off, the result is often a spectacular display of over the top desire followed by a massive emotional hangover.

Venus square Jupiter exaggerates everything. Feelings get bigger. Desires get louder. Spending impulses become questionable.

It is a transit of excess and lack of boundaries. Personally, this might feel like you are telling someone you love them during a third date because the lighting was good and the wine was expensive, only to spend the next morning trying to figure out how to change your name and move to Denmark.

But beneath the comedy sits the New Moon in Pisces.

The final New Moon of the astrological year.

Think of it like the quiet moment after a long party when everyone has gone home and the house is finally silent. Empty glasses. Soft music still playing somewhere. You sitting there realizing the version of you who arrived months ago is not the one leaving.

Pisces is about surrender.

About trusting the strange intelligence of life even when you cannot map the outcome yet.

Your invitation today is to notice what wants to dissolve.

(Scroll down to see how these transits write themselves into your Rising Sign storyline.)

Thur, March 19

Moon in Aries conjunct Neptune and Saturn

This is not a gentle post-new-moon landing strip. The Moon slides into Aries and immediately runs into the heavy hitters: Neptune and Saturn. This is where the dream meets the wall.

After the emotional dissolution of the New Moon, Thursday provides a cold, fucking sober reality check.

Neptune represents the vision, the ideal, the spiritual yearning, while Saturn represents the boundary, the structure, the consequences. In Aries, these two are attempting to build a new reality out of the debris of the old one.

This conjunction feels like waking up from a beautiful dream about being a famous artist only to realize you are actually late for your shift at the Tesco cashier desk and you haven’t done your laundry in a week.

It is the friction between your highest potential and the mundane requirements of being a human in a failing capitalist system. The desire to leave for the woods, lie down and let the moss cover your body until you are indistinguishable from a lumpy boulder, finally achieving your lifelong dream of being ‘unreachable’ by anyone without a map and a sturdy pair of boots.

But above all of this woodland yearning, today, there is a dome made of a crushing sense of responsibility for your own dreams. Saturn does not care about your vibes.. Saturn wants to see the blueprint and the receipts.

Are you willing to fight for the dream when the path to it involves a series of mundane, taxing, boring steps?
