Velvet Gloves to Iron Fists - Libra Politeness Gives Way to Aries March for Scorpio Nuclear Truth Bombs
So. Anyone else feeling like just when you thought you’d hit rock bottom, the universe yanks the trapdoor and reveals there’s a whole dungeon basement underneath? Doomscrolling lately feels less like information intake and more like being strapped to a VR headset run by a rogue AI whose only setting is Requiem for a Dream-style collective fever dream with a Friend’s laugh track.
If you thought September was a car wash of doom, get ready for a full-on cleansing forest fire inferno. Mark your calendars, because this main event aka a full moon in Aries is dropping on Monday, October 6th, but the whole lead up to it will already feel deliciously chaotic.
Aries is the unapologetic “me, me, me” sign - not in the petty influencer way but in the holy, survivalist way. Aries energy is raw impulse, the sacred fire of existence that refuses to apologize for being alive. It could - in some cases probably already does - set the proverbial fire under our collective ass, to loudly & boldly rise up for what we deep down hold as sacred and what we feel is currently under attack. Yes, I’m looking at you, US of A.
This full moon is going to be like a big, flaming spotlight shining on the big, bold ideas you’ve been sitting on, the moves you’ve been too afraid to make, the truths you’ve been choking down. This is the moment to rip them out of your chest. Messily. Publicly.
The Lead Up
Let’s talk prelude. With Venus twisting and squirming uncomfortably in Virgo, relationships will surely come under scrutiny. Venus wants silk sheets and candlelight, same as Libra that she rules. Virgo instead will never drop her knickers before the house is clean and the tax return filed. During Libra season, this Venus placement is a total dissonance: craving comfort, connection, harmony… and getting nitpicky criticism instead.
So, embrace the tension & messiness! Embrace the people who annoy you a little bit, who say the wrong thing, who are gloriously and wonderfully human. Because that’s how we build true solidarity and create magic in this world.
This weekend, you might feel the urge to criticize, but instead, take a deep breath and remind yourself that it’s the beautiful, imperfect chaos that makes life worth living. It’s what makes us human.
Mercury is in Libra and it feels like ever the diplomat with a velvet tongue currently cozying up to Jupiter, the planet of excess, opportunity, and “more, please.” Translation: astrology is ripe for big conversations. The type of conversations that can change everything. You might find yourself knee-deep in discussions about what’s fair and what’s not, what’s just and what’s absolutely ridiculous.
The type of conversations that make you consider who’s in your corner? Who’s gaslighting you and who really is your cheerleader? And more importantly, who are you hyping up?
This week is the cosmic sorting hat for relationships, alliances and collaborations. If you’ve been talking yourself into staying small or quiet for the sake of peace, expect the lid to blow.
But here’s the twist in the tale: on Sunday, October 5th, Mercury abandons Libra’s velvet courtroom and slips into Scorpio’s dungeon. Suddenly the conversation changes key. What was polite and balanced becomes probing, obsessive, surgical. This is where words stop being ornamental and start being weapons, excavation tools, spells.
And then.. the kicker - on the very day of the Aries Full Moon, Mercury in Scorpio locks horns with Pluto in Aquarius. So, you know, no biggie, but this is Donald Trump’s second favorite n-word: nuclear. Expect revelations, whistleblowers, explosive news cycles (not that it’s not served on daily nowadays), private truths dragged into the light like bones out of a shallow grave.
Mercury square Pluto is the ugly part of the truth nobody wanted to say suddenly cannot be unsaid.
So the lead-up to this Full Moon is a progression: we move from Libra’s polite dinner party conversation into Scorpio’s locked interrogation room, and by the time the Full Moon hits, the gloves are off, the receipts are out, and the collective narrative has been set on fire.
The Moon Itself
For weeks now, we’ve been doing the Libra tap dance: smoothing things over, nodding politely, trying to be “the bigger person” - performing the role of we even when your insides are screaming fuck this. Libra is the carefully worded email, the forced smile during blatantly racist family dinner conversation, the endless self-sacrifice on the altar of peacekeeping.
And then the Full Moon storms in at 14° Aries. Boom. Intervention. Aries is the holy “I AM.” It’s the warrior, the ram, the feral survival instinct that says: I will not betray myself just to keep the peace.
Full Moons are always oppositions, a clash of forces, and this one is a cosmic courtroom brawl between Libra’s desperate harmony and Aries’ primal non-negotiables.
It will be messy. It will be disruptive. It will be necessary.
It’s also the climax of a six-month story that began with the Aries solar eclipse on March 29th. Seeds planted back then around radical selfhood? They’re now sprouting.. or rotting. Whatever hasn’t been fed the truth is getting ripped out by the roots.
The ruler of this lunation is Mars in Scorpio - not the typical hot-headed, loud fratboy vibe. In Scorpio, Mars is more akin to a precise, strategic, vengeful assassin. He’s not here to swing blindly, rather to strategically cut the entire rotten foundation out. Add Mercury squaring Pluto to the mix and you’ve got scandal, receipts, power struggles, exposés, the skeletons in the closet rattling loud enough to make headlines.
Your Full Moon Battle Plan: How Not to Lose Your Mind
So, the energy is chaotic and confrontational. What the hell are you supposed to do? You can’t just hide under the duvet and wait for it to pass (unless you want to, no judgment, I’ll probably be there with you, avoiding the news).
- Identify the Real Enemy: Aries energy can make you want to fight everyone, from your barista to your mother. Don’t waste your fire on pointless skirmishes. Don’t fall into the rage-bait trap & choose the one battle that actually matters. Is it with your boss? A partner? Or is the real fight with your own self-limiting beliefs? Get clear on your target.
- Gather Your Intel: Full Moons are moments of revelation. The universe is screaming messages at you through sudden insights, through gut feelings and conversations that feel like a punch to that gut. Pay attention. The veil is thin, and the downloads are coming in hot. Consider them muffled GPS instructions - journal it. Record it. We’ll analyse them when the fire dies off.
- Choose Your Weapon Wisely: With the Sun conjunct Logos, the asteroid of “the word”, Mercury making the switcheroo from Libra to Scorpio, your thoughts and speech are for real for real creating your reality. Your words are weapons. Use them with the precision of a surgeon, not the blunt force of a sledgehammer. A well-placed truth is more powerful than a thousand angry rants.
- Know When to Stand Down: Not every battle needs to be won today. Mars in Scorpio is a master of timing. Sometimes the most powerful move is a strategic retreat. Conserve your energy. A tactical pause isn’t surrender.. it’s preparing for the real war.
So, as we head into this wild, fiery Aries full moon, remember to use that energy to own your power, speak your truth, and love the glorious mess that is you—and everyone else around you. Now, let’s go get it.
