Welcome to Sagittarius Season 2024—a wild, philosophical, and sometimes chaotic adventure led by Jupiter, the planet of expansion. From November 22 to December 21, the Sun charges through Sagittarius, inviting us all to think big, take bold leaps, and embrace the unfamiliar. But don’t pack your bags just yet! With Mercury and Mars retrogrades causing celestial turbulence and Pluto stepping into revolutionary Aquarius, you’ll need equal parts flexibility and wisdom to navigate this season.
Sagittarius is the Zodiac’s swashbuckler, embodying the fiery curiosity of a traveler on an endless quest. Ruled by Jupiter—the largest planet in our solar system—Sagittarius energy magnifies everything: optimism, adventure, and the occasional overconfidence that we can handle anything. But with great ambition comes the need for discernment. Sagittarius energy can tip into impulsiveness, so while you’re dreaming of far-off lands or profound revelations, keep one foot firmly planted on the ground. Whether you’re rethinking life’s big questions or just planning next year’s vacation, this is the season to embrace exploration while practicing restraint.
On a more personal level, considering the themes of education, law, politics and travel being fed steroids by Jupiter all throughout this season, don’t be surprised if people feel compelled to dive headfirst into activism, pursue law degrees (because hey, it seems anyone can step into high-profile legal roles like attorney general these days!), and ignite significant democratic revolutions. And yes, sadly, the world is in dire need of one again.
Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius: Adventures in Miscommunication
From November 25 to December 15, Mercury—the cosmic messenger—goes retrograde in Sagittarius, and suddenly your grand plans feel like a comedy of errors. Sagittarius loves speaking its truth, but during Mercury Retrograde, even the most well-intentioned truths can land like bricks in the middle of a delicate conversation.
Thanks to (Anti)Social media’s over-the-top obsession with Mercury Retrograde, we’re all seasoned pros at bracing for the usual antics: travel chaos, tech glitches, and the ever-present danger of accidentally hitting 'reply all' on highly inappropriate emails. Yet, Mercury Retrograde isn’t all doom and gloom—it offers an opportunity to revisit unfinished projects, question long-held beliefs, and recalibrate your internal GPS. If you’re willing to approach missteps with humor and flexibility, you’ll emerge with a clearer sense of purpose.
We will be experiencing a post-shadow period of this retrograde well until January, which means during the upcoming family festive gatherings, you'll do well to stir conversations away from politics and other highly contentious topics, that is if you don't wish to enter the year 2025 orphaned.
Triple-check your itinerary and think twice before sending that sarcastic text. Sagittarian bluntness under Mercury’s retrograde influence can turn a casual comment into a full-blown misunderstanding.
Mars Retrograde: The Brakes on Boldness
From December 6 to February 23, Mars retrogrades between Leo and Cancer, throwing a wrench into our usual go-getter energy. Mars is the planet of action, and its retrograde phase can feel like running in slow motion while shouting, “Why isn’t this working?”
In Leo, Mars asks us to reassess our self-expression. Are you pursuing passions that align with your true desires, or just chasing applause? By January, Mars shifts to Cancer, spotlighting emotional security and family dynamics. Old wounds may resurface, but this is your chance to heal them.

Mark your calendars: November 19, 2024, Pluto reenters Aquarius, where it will remain until 2043. This rare and transformative transit heralds a new era of collective innovation and social upheaval. The last time Pluto visited Aquarius, we witnessed the American and French Revolutions.
This transit invites us to revolutionize how we perceive power, individuality, and community. Where Pluto’s tenure in Capricorn unearthed corruption in hierarchical systems—think economic inequality and the dominance of big corporations—its journey through Aquarius turns the focus to innovation, equality, and collective progress.
