New Moon x Scorpio: A Funeral for Your Bullshit

How the Scorpio New Moon & the Mercury Cazimi are Forcing a Brutal, Beautiful, Feral Rebirth

“The future is real. The past is all made up.” – Logan Roy, Succession

We are crawling to the finish line of 2025. The geopolitical stage is a full-blown dumpster fire of absurdist theatre (but than again, this is 2025, when is it not?) and the background rumble of global anxiety is... well, it’s not in the background anymore. It busted through the walls, it’s in the room. It’s sitting in your body as we speak. It’s crushing your spine and zapping your nervous system. We are all just so fucking tired. We’re all walking around with the low-grade trauma of just existing in a world that seems committed to its own self-sabotage.

This is right on brand for the deep emotional sewer system of Scorpio season. Aka the annual scheduled psychic X-ray showing us all the fractures.

And right into this glorious, simmering cesspit of collective dread comes the New Moon in Scorpio on November 20th. Rather than a potent clean slate for planting seeds of new intentions (ha and ha!), I think of it as a funeral. It is a sacred death. It is the Mother Moon lovingly handing you a shovel and pointing to the patch of psychic ground where you’ve buried your worst contracts, your deepest secrets, your most toxic patterns of self-betrayal. It’s time to dig that shit up, look it in its maggot-ridden face, have one last dance with the corpse (Lestat and Claudia’s deceased mum- style..that scene still haunts my nightmares) and then…set it on fire. Tralalala.

November 19th/20th New Moon intervention has two major co-conspirators.

First, this lunation is happening at the exact same moment as a Mercury Cazimi. Mercury, the planet of your mind & communication - is retrograde in Scorpio, making you review all this deep, dark, obsessive shit. And it’s conjunct the Sun, putting it in the “heart of the Sun”. Just your not-so-cozy “death and rebirth of the mind“, no biggie.

Minds will be blown through an absolute blinding clarity: spotlight so strong it chases away all the shadows from conspiracy rabbit holes. So long, Mr Trump.

Don’t get me wrong, the collective (as well as us on the more interpersonal scale) will twist and squirm and try to shout really loud to cover the embarrassment of all the lies, all the hate, all the pathetic excuses & mental gymnastics we put our overstimulated minds through in order to live with what we chose to believe (about ourselves, about the world, about the value of the truth and validity of consent).

Squirming notwithstanding, you can’t pretend you don’t know. The truth was served.

Second, this entire death-and-rebirth-truth-bomb-ceremony is opposing Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is the planet of sudden shocks, chaos and revolution. So that tells us, that Cazimi sharp clarity doesn’t come as just a gentle “aha” moment - it’s being triggered by a physical, financial or material (Taurus) shock. It’s the “holy shit, I see the truth” moment followed immediately by the “oh fuck, now I have to do something about it” reality check. It sounds momentous (it is), but if you’re a human being alive in 2025, you’ve been prepped for this shit.

This is a collective grieving wail for all that’s been lost to bullshit this past year, but also Aunt Lydia’s cattle prod electric shock zapping you into action.

To make it all cozier, this New Moon lands at 28° Scorpio, which is a Cancer degree. This isn’t a cold, surgical death. This is an emotional one. This is the primal, protective: “I will burn this world down for my family” vibe. It seems to be forcing one question:

What is so precious, so vital, that you will fight to the death to protect it? And, more importantly, what bullshit will you let die in order to save it?

While all this psychic surgery is happening, Venus is in Scorpio, making our relationships feel like an episode of The White Lotus - all secrets, sex, jealousy and fucked-up power dynamics. And Mars is in Sagittarius, acting like a golden retriever with a law degree and no impulse control..starting philosophical arguments at Thanksgiving , posting unhinged “truths” to LinkedIn, and generally being a chaotic, self-righteous (but optimistic!) menace.

This is the week. This is the death. This is the rebirth. It’s time to choose what/who you’re gonna carry out of that burning house.

✨ YOUR NEW MOON ROADMAP: SIGN-BY-SIGN GUIDE ✨

Aries Rising

Hey Aries, I see you. You’ve been dragging around that deep, ambient anxiety about “other people’s shit” for a while. That feeling that you’re somehow tangled up in everyone else’s drama, debt or trauma (most likely all of the above wrapped together and delivered with a shitty bow on top).

This New Moon is a goddamn demon hunting mission for your 8th House of Sex, Death, Debt, Shared Resources. This is the deepest, darkest, scariest part of your chart - and the universe is turning on all the lights. Great! Just that!

The Mercury Cazimi is a “divine subpoena” landing right on your psychic desk. You are suddenly seeing the exact toxic, unwritten, bullshit clauses in your contracts, be it with your partner, your bank, your boss, your family (or dare I say yourself?). Here is that manila envelope with all the receipts revealing the power dynamics with chilling, royal clarity.

Venus is in Scorpio too, making these toxic entanglements feel... horribly seductive. This is your Fleabag “hot priest” moment.., you know it’s wrong, but the intensity is a drug. But the Uranus opposition from your 2nd House of Money and Self-Worth is the “payment declined” notification. A sudden financial shock, a bill you forgot or a moment of “fuck, I’m broke” forces you to confront the 8th House mess.

Try your best to calm down reactivity - Uranian sudden lightning strikes are designed to only burn away what needs to make space for something that’s truly meant for our highest evolution. You can’t simply afford this entanglement anymore. Meanwhile, your ruler Mars is in your 9th House, making you want to preach this new, raw truth from a mountaintop, probably in a way that’s... a lot.

  • Feral Tip: Pay off one small, symbolic, “fuck you” debt. Even if it’s just the $5 you owe your friend. Or, go through your bank statement and cancel one subscription that feels like a vampire.
  • Spiritually, it’s about: Realizing your self-worth (2nd House) and your intimate power (8th House) are the same fucking thing. You cannot have one without the other. Under this new moon, you will be asked to review the dynamics between these two connected houses. Where they tip into a toxic muck, you get the whole we protect billionaire pedos shit America is doing right now, we don’t think this is a sustainable way to move through the world, do we. So, how exactly can intimacy, taboos, self-worth, secrets, power dynamics linked to money or to body - be a positive guiding force in your life? What type of equilibrium must be achieved?
  • A New Moon Ritual: Get a bill (2nd House) and write a secret on the back of it (8th House). Go to your bathroom (a Scorpio space), turn off the lights, light a single candle. Look at the paper. Look at the truth. Then, safely burn that shit in a bowl. As it burns, say: “This contract is broken. This debt is paid.” Flush the ashes. Wash your hands. Done.

THE MOON

I shuffled my cards for you, Aries, holding a simple request in my chest: Show me what Aries must know under this Scorpio New Moon. And before I could even finish cutting the deck, The Moon slid out like it had something it’s been dying to tell you.

But if you know something about The Moon, this is never a crystal clear message, it usually arrives when life feels like walking through fog with a lantern that flickers at the worst possible moments. You’re sensing things more intensely than you can explain.. subtle shifts in tone, undercurrents in conversations, the strange way your instincts are louder than your logic. Conspiracies, suspicions, obsessing & betrayals (or feelings of betrayals) live here too. The Moon says: you’re not imagining it. But you’re also not meant to fully understand it yet.

This is a moment of emotional recalibration. Your intuition is rising from the bones, not the mind. The old Aries impulse to rush forward, to act, to “just know” - that shit doesn’t work here. The Moon wants you leaning into the not-knowing, sitting with the contradictions, letting the shadows speak before you decide what they mean. I know, annoying.

Don’t force clarity. Let it surface.

The Moon is also pulling your attention toward the fears you pretend not to have: fear of losing control, fear of choosing wrong, fear of being vulnerable in front of someone who matters too much. Can some of these fears be, I don’t know..like.. teachers?

Sit with a feeling you usually outrun. Name the part of you that’s trembling. Ask it what it needs.
