Why Letting That Sh*t Go is the Real Manifestation Magic
Every few weeks, like clockwork, a particular kind of article starts circulating again. Different fonts, different aesthetics, different degrees of spiritual seriousness but always the same core idea: the secret to manifestation is wanting nothing.
Desire less. Care less. Float serenely above the mess of human longing and the universe will finally comply. Great. As a person living with OCD, always ready to attack my desires and dreams through obsessive piling up of spells and techniques, this is just fucking great to read.
But you know what’s the most annoying bit? They’re not wrong.
Which is why I’m revisiting this older article now. It is particularly relevant now - the first week of a new year. Capricorn Season is doing what Capricorn Season does best: stripping away fantasy and demanding focus, structure and abrutally honest assessment of what is actually working in our lives. Not what looks magical. Not what sounds poetic. What works.
Astrology seems to be demanding we put down our wands and pick up a banner & a molotov cocktail (please don’t) and instead of casting a circle, walk into streets and march for saving the world in which magick will still be possible.
Neptune is preparing for its final ingress into Aries, dissolving illusions we’ve mistaken for identities. Kiss the reality filtered through the lies of social media goodbye. Kick the toxic conspiracy theories and fake news from the deck, they can’t sail with us towards the future horizons.
Saturn will follow soon after, insisting on accountability. A Solar Eclipse in Aquarius is queued up for 17th Feb with a blowtorch for our carefully constructed plans, and before the smoke dissipates, the year’s first Mercury retrograde steps squarely onto the collective throat.
This is not supportive terrain for frantic, high-stakes spellwork fuelled by urgency and adrenaline. It is an environment where strain backfires, obsession distorts outcomes, nervous systems already stretched thin begin to burn out.
Which makes this an excellent moment to talk..calmly, practically and without spiritual theater - about the art of letting go of results.
Join me on a little journey of moving past the 'lust of result' and into the feral territory of detachment. Below, we’re stripping back the altar cloths to look at why your desperation is clogging the current, how to stop your magic from becoming a restraining order from the universe.. and the exact, embodied practices to reduce 'importance' before you fry your circuits for good.
