"And if your heart is a volcano, how shall you expect flowers to bloom?" - Khalil Gibran
Okay, let's just breathe through this for a second. By now you must be going deaf from all those alarm bells being sounded by astrologers worldwide in regards to March 2025. Just switching on the News briefly this morning, I almost choked on my coffee. Every day brings a brand new darkly absurd shitshow threatening not only our values and sanity, but also kind of our survival as a species. Not to be dramatic or anything…It feels as if humanity is being pulled into a black rabbit hole, its gravitational force warping reality, challenging our value systems, rewriting history and with it the very fabric of our world order.
This volatile atmosphere is of course reflected - or a direct reflection, it always works both ways - of the chaos unfolding above. March brings a confluence of powerful transits: Venus's retrograde journey through Aries and Pisces, Mercury's reflective backtrack through the same signs, a total lunar eclipse in Virgo, a partial solar eclipse in Aries, and Neptune's ingress into Aries.
Although most likely kicking and screaming, we will be taken by this wild river of global geopolitical developments towards the unknown shores. This period demands a profound realignment and I will be providing insights into all the March transits right here, as we walk hand in hand into this collective dusk, grappling with the dizzying shifts in our world. Today marks the beginning of Venus Retrograde and we’ll take a look on how to understand and navigate this several weeks long period of re-evaluation that invites us to delve into the depths of our hearts and emerge with a renewed sense of clarity and purpose.
Venus Retrograde in Aries and Pisces: A Journey of Reassessment
(March 1 – April 12, 2025)
The month kicks off with Venus embarking on a retrograde journey, a celestial dance that begins in the assertive realm of Aries before retreating into the introspective waters of Pisces. This transit invites a profound introspection into our relationships, values, and creative expressions-the often jarring need to confront unresolved emotions and past connections will arise: an opportunity to reassess one's approach to love and self-worth, potentially leading to transformative experiences.
The shift from Aries to Pisces emphasizes the need to balance personal desires with empathy and compassion, fostering a more holistic understanding of our relational dynamics. It's a journey from the fiery assertion of "I want" to the fluid understanding of "we feel." The Piscean influence encourages practices such as meditation and dream analysis, facilitating a deeper connection to the subconscious mind. This alignment supports the dissolution of illusions, paving the way for spiritual clarity and growth. It's akin to peeling back layers of a cosmic onion, revealing the core truths that lie beneath.
Now, if you're feeling a strange sense of déjà vu, there's a reason. Eight years ago, in the first quarter of 2017, Venus last danced her retrograde tango in Aries. Remember those days? What were you being confronted with in your personal life back then?
Let’s think back to 2017’s explosion of the #MeToo movement. Sexual abuse and harassment against women committed by men in a position of power are (in some shape of form) as old as humanity. Which does not mean it will and it can be part of our journey going forward. The societal ripple effect commencing Harvey Weinstein’s case in 2017 initiated a lasting shift in paradigm. Venus coming to waltz backwards through Aries again brings all of this back to focus for a review.
On the global stage, in the first months of 2017, the world was grappling with the first weeks of Trump's presidency, marked - surprise surprise - by a flurry of executive orders, including those related to immigration, which sparked widespread protests and legal challenges. There was also a focus on economic policy, with discussions and early actions related to tax reform and deregulation. Sounds familiar?
Add to it a very brazen attack we’re now experiencing on bodily autonomy, pro-choice sentiments and expression of gender - all very Venusian themes, this retrograde asks us to re-evaluate our progress - both from the personal and collective standpoint - and in a very loud and inflammatory Aries fashion, march to confront oppressing powers threatening our values. Policies related to social welfare, arts, and international relations could come under scrutiny, leading to reforms that reflect a more compassionate and inclusive ethos. The blending of Aries' assertiveness with Pisces' empathy suggests a potential shift towards leadership that embodies both strength and sensitivity, a necessary balance in navigating complex global issues.
The energies of Venus Retrograde, with its call to reevaluate and refine our deepest values, offer a potent opportunity for personal growth and healing.
